The beach
Ligres is the northern part of a long stretch of coast that runs south from Cape Melissa towards Triopetra. A large reddish rock stands near the water mid-beach. The water is deep and clear, often wavy.
It is quiet and spread out; much of it is used by naturists. A couple of tavernas with rooms sit at the western end.
The waterfall and Katsouni
At the west end a small waterfall flows next to the sea all year. Walk west from it to reach Katsouni, a sandy cove enclosed by big rocks, very quiet early and late in the season.
Getting there
Access is the reason Ligres stays quiet: the road down is asphalt but in poor condition. From Ligres you can continue to Triopetra, 2.7 km south, and Agios Pavlos is about 4.5 km away.
