The cove

Plakaki is a small fine-pebble cove between rocks. It is well protected from wind, which makes it a calm alternative when the open beaches are rough. The water is clear and good for snorkelling.

It is quiet and partly used by naturists.

Getting there

Drive or cycle west from Paleochora on the road to Koundoura; Plakaki is right beside the road, about 1 km before Grammeno. The road is paved and the cove is easy to reach.

Nearby

Grammeno, with its campsite, tavernas and two beaches, is 900 m further west. The Pelekaniotis gorge is under 1 km away, and Paleochora's fort is about 3 km back towards town.
