What to expect
The name comes from 'trochalos', a pile of stones, and it fits: the shore is big pebbles and boulders, and visitors often build little stone stacks. Entry is less comfortable than at its neighbours, so water shoes help.
The water is clear and usually calm, the rocks give shade, and the beach is often almost empty. Some visitors swim without clothes.
Getting there
Walk or drive the coast road west from Paleochora towards Koundoura. A pavement runs alongside, so it is an easy walk; Trochalou is 300 m beyond Psilos Volakas.
Nearby
For sunbeds and a canteen go back to Psilos Volakas. The Karavopetra coves and Plakaki are under 1 km further west.
Questions before you go

Are there facilities at Trochalou?
No. Psilos Volakas, 300 m away, has a canteen and sunbeds.
Can I walk from Paleochora?
