The walk
From the Odigitria monastery a dirt road leads to a parking area at the top of the gorge. The path then follows the gorge floor between tall cliffs used by climbers, past caves where hermits once lived.
Wear sturdy shoes and carry plenty of water; the gorge is hot in summer.
Along the way
Near the mouth of the gorge stands the chapel of Agios Antonios, with a well that has water all year. The Goumenospilios cave church is also in the area.

The beach
The beach is a small cove of coarse sand and pebbles with deep, clear water, framed by rock walls. There is no shade on the beach itself and nothing to buy.
By boat
In summer, boats from Kaloi Limenes and Matala sometimes stop at Agiofarago, which avoids the walk.
