The beach
The water is crystal clear and usually calm. Some spots have smooth, slippery rocks at the waterline, so enter carefully. The eastern part is popular with naturists.
History
The name comes from a sanctuary of the Dioscuri on the hill between Diaskari and Lagada. On the hill to the north, archaeologists found a Late Minoan settlement in 1972.
Nearby
Lagada, more secluded, is 700 m further on. Makrigialos has a Roman villa and a Minoan villa within 2 to 3 km, and the Pefki gorge is about 3.5 km away.
