The beach

The main beach runs west from Cape Theofilos to Sendona hill, in a ravine formed by a small stream. Tamarisks give shade. The water is clear and usually calm; the western part is quieter.

Umbrellas, showers, water sports and beach volleyball are available in summer, and the village has tavernas, a mini market and a pharmacy.

Thiofilo cove

Behind Cape Theofilos, with its small lighthouse, lies Thiofilo: a secluded cove with a little natural harbour and very deep water, opposite the big rock called Psaroharako. It is good for snorkelling.

Getting there and nearby

Paved roads lead down from the Viannos area. Tertsa beach is 3 km west and Arvi, with its banana plantations, about 6 km. In August the Kalami village association holds summer beach events.
