The coves
From east to west the coves are Kokkinos Volakas, Stavri, Filadelfi, Parahoristra, Agios Antonios, Hohlakas and Klimata. Kokkinos Volakas, the main one, is named after a reddish rock at its east end and has a small cave and a few palms; there is little natural shade.
Stavri, next door, is smaller and often empty. The water is clear and calm, good for snorkelling, and the coves are used by naturists.
Getting there
A dirt track links Souda beach with Korakas beach at Rodakino and passes above the coves. Drive slowly and check your rental terms for unpaved roads. In summer you can also arrive by boat.
Bring everything
There is nothing here: bring water, food and shade. Souda beach, under 1 km east, has a taverna, and Plakias, 3.6 km away, has everything else.
