Which Pahia Ammos?
Several Cretan beaches share the name Pahia Ammos. This one is on the south coast below Kerames, about 49 km from Rethymno, not the town beach in Paleochora or the beach near Ierapetra.
The beach
The sand is coarse with rocks in places, and the sea is often wavy. Rocks give some shade. It is a good snorkelling and spearfishing spot, quiet, and used by naturists.
There are no facilities; rooms and food are back towards Glima and Agia Fotini.
Getting there
Drive to Agia Fotini harbour below Kerames, take the dirt track south-east past Podare and over the hill to the parking area at Glima, then walk about 100 m east.
