The beach
The main beach runs west from the village and has umbrellas, showers and tavernas. East of the village the shore breaks into rocky, more secluded coves. It is open to the north and often wavy.
Nopigia is quiet, so it suits people who want a village base rather than a resort.
In and around the village
Ruins of ancient Mythimna lie nearby. The cruciform domed church of Agios Panteleimon and the church of Agios Georgios with Byzantine frescoes are worth a look, and a small open-air theatre by the sea, built in 1992, hosts summer events.
About 200 m from the main street, the Rizospilios cave has an underground river. The Trevisan Villa at Kokkino Metochi is 2.2 km away, and the Roka fortress and gorge about 4 km.
Getting there
Nopigia is just off the national road between Kolymbari and Kissamos and on the bus route.
