- Facilities
- A few umbrellas, taverna nearby

What to expect
The bay is enclosed, so the water is usually calm even when nearby beaches have waves. The sand shelves gently, which suits small children.
It is quiet rather than polished: there are some umbrellas and tavernas nearby, but little else. The chapel of Agios Onoufrios beside the beach gives the place its name; its feast day is 12 June.
One drawback
Fuel storage tanks are visible to the north-west of the bay. They do not affect the swimming, but they are part of the view.
Getting there and nearby
Drive toward Kounoupidiana and follow the signs, or take an Akrotiri bus and walk the last stretch. Kalathas is 2.3 km away if you want a larger organised beach, and the Venizelos graves are 2.8 km back toward Chania.
